It was COLD outside, so I decided to stay inside and walk on the treadmill. I thought I could walk 4 miles in an hour. That is 15:00 per mile. It didn't sound too hard.
But then the treadmill has to make everything seem harder than it is, so I dropped it to 3 mph. Therefore, I had to walk for 1:20 in order to get 4 miles.
Walked in the other pair of Fireroads. They have never been worn, so it was like breaking them in. They liked walking, I think.
Played with the 4 x 4 cube while walking. Also talked on the phone to Lisa.
During the last 20 minutes, the legs, mostly the calves, started feeling like they were being worked. Walking always seems to make me tired than running. It is strange thing. I was walking with Lisa in the mall last Saturday, and I started to complain that my legs hurt. She told me to stop being a pansy.

Did some mild PT. Just a little. But for right now it was plenty.

Yasso 800s are a good workout. Basically, you do the workout once a week. If you are going to run a 3:40 marathon, then run the 800s in 3:40. Start with 4, and build up to 10 or 12 during training. Make sure to run all of them at the same pace. Don't make some 10 seconds faster and others 10 seconds slower. Run all of them the same.

There was a stray cat that came to our house. My mom fed it food. It stuck around. We fed it more stuff. Later, it was still there. I took some boxes out to the shed and designed a little hutch for it to sleep in. The cat didn't want to go in the hutch. I picked it up, picked HER up (probably a female), and put her in the hutch. She climbed out right away. She rubbed against my legs and purred. I petted it on the head.

Proposition.
Hey you all who read this. Maybe we can all do a similar training schedule, like long run on Sunday, speedwork on Thursday, and easy days the rest. Then we can all sort of "train" together, even though we are miles and miles apart. We are so many miles apart that it would take weeks or months to run to where the others are. If we wanted to visit Anton, we would have to run to the Pacific coast, then swim to Hawaii. Sharks would attack. We would have harpoons, though, and could fend them off. We might even manage to make a meal out of one or two of them.
That is the proposition. Not the part about harpooning the sharks. The other part. The one about having a similar training schedule.

I wasn't going to do any dips, but after reading Anton's blog I got motivated. I am doing what he did today: 15, 10, 5. That is a quick dip workout but good. The arms need to have an easy transition into more serious PT anyway.
Thanks for motivating me!

Totals:
4 miles (4 miles on F2s)
5 x 25 push 1 = 125 , 1 min. planks sides and front, 15, 10, 5 dips = 30, 20 neck each

I enjoyed reading about the cat. It was funny when you put it in the box and it jumped out. Do you think it's going to freeze?
Also, are you trying to tell us that it's easier to run than it is to walk?
Excellent post. I enjoy reading your blogs. They are entertaining. Please continue writing.
Yes, running is easier.
This past summer when I went to the Omaha Zoo, I had to walk a lot. My legs tired quickly.
The cat, it will survive. It has probably adapted to the cold. If only it would get in the hutch, then it would be 10 degrees warmer. Silly thing!
I prefer running to walking too. Walking is not just "slow running" as some people seem to think.
What are "fireroads"? I keep getting this link pop up on my facebook page for these running shoes for the desert. They intrigue me, although I don't run in the desert.
We had a stray cat come around. We fed it. It stayed. We eventually took it to the vet to get it spayed. Turned out it needed to be neutered instead. He's still here after 9 years.
