Stuff

It has been a long while since I have last posted something. I always start with this line. Lately, it has been true.

I have been running. It is fun. I am trying to do a little thing where I do 2 days on, 1 off. Ideally, I would want to get in a 12 miler and a 15 miler, and maybe throw in some evening runs. I would get rest every 3 days rather than every 7. That seems like a good thing to do.

I don't know what I should train for. I was thinking about training to run a fast marathon in the fall, but that isn't that fun. It is more fun to go run out in the forest or something. So, maybe I will run the marathon anyway, but might set my goals on completing a 50 miler or so in November. If Ben gets to do one, we should all.

So, Ben, how is your training going? Actually, you sort of told me on the phone. You are getting prepped for the North Face Endurance 50? You can complete that with no problem. You are a person to run far.

And you, Abby, how is everything? Going to run a race sometime? Getting your pullup PR up there?

New Stuff

Some new stuff:

1) Speedwork

I really haven't done too much speed work the past 2 years, so now I am getting back into it. On Tuesdays I do mile repeats or something, and Thursday I do a tempo run. That is a good plan, I think.

2) Long Beach Marathon

I have decided to run the LBM in October. I started 14 weeks before the race date. That is plenty of time. I think I will do okay, probably within 5 minutes of my PR from years ago. Maybe even faster?

3) Weighted Backpack

I did some pullups today with a pack filled with around 15 pounds of stuff. Also, I did some dips with the pack too. I might use a pack on Fridays. Maybe it will help me gain some mass.
